Job Interview Preparation
Your job interview preparation will determine whether you or not you will be called into a meeting. There are tips to follow that will work in
any typical job interview.
Select your five most significant accomplishments
It can be difficult selecting the accomplishments that will give the impression that you are the most qualified job candidate. It's natural to want to give interviewer's a laundry list of your achievements. However, you should be prepared to discuss a few successes. Since you don't know what type of interview questions you'll be asked, take the time to think of accomplishments in different core competencies pertinent to your position.
For example, if you are a sales rep the skill set that is important to your job is sales, marketing, and customer service. To prepare for the interview, pinpoint accomplishments in each area.
Choose an appropriate interview outfit
Respect the interview process by dressing in the right outfit. If you don't have a sense of style, go to a department store and ask for help. The associates will be more than happy to help you.
At the end of the day, you have to answer this question: why are you interested in the position? Throughout your interview relate what you know, express information you know about the company, and how your skills and abilities will benefit the hiring organization.
