Introductory
paragraph
In this paragraph, you should state the position you applied for,
thank the interviewer for his or her time, and provide a list of
qualifications and skills mentioned during the interview. Example:
Today's meeting
was an exciting one. From our conversation, I have a better grasp of
the responsibilities I will be charged with. Specifically, it is my
understanding that you are interested in partnering with a sales
executive with proven experience landing multi-million dollar
accounts.
Second paragraph
Reiterate your experience and how it aligns with the requirements of
the open position. Example:
In the last few
years, I have single-handedly captured new business with Fortune 500
companies that were instrumental in making ZY Textiles (my
current employer) a leader in the industry. I am confident I
can provide similar results for your organization.
Third paragraph
Close the interview follow up letter with a direct statement that you remain
interested in the position. Example:
Again, thank you for your
time. I am available to answer additional questions or participate in the second
round of interviews. I can be reached at (888) 555 - 5555. I look
forward to your positive response.
Signature line
Leave hockey "motivational" lines and proverbs out of your signature
line. Keep the signature simple and straight to the point. Example:
